The 2nd Diaverum Medical Meeting: An Opportunity for Growth and Innovation in Renal Health.

From April 2 to 3, 2025, Palermo was chosen to host the 2nd Diaverum Medical Meeting, an event attended by physicians, nurses and Head Cluster with the goal of deepening and improving patient care through collaboration, sharing best practices and innovation. The event had a focus on a few key topics:

Organic Growth
One of the topics discussed during the meeting was the importance of organic growth, that is, increasing the patient population within our clinics. In an ever-changing healthcare environment, Diaverum is characterized by possessing high standards of quality patient care, during the meeting the need to improve communication outside the company so that our stakeholders are also aware of this

The Hospitalization Rate
Another crucial topic was the hospitalization rate, understood as the number of days per year that a patient spends in the hospital for emergencies or planned admissions. Our goal is to be able to reduce it through more effective management with attention to preventive measures. By implementing advanced techniques and timely treatment, Diaverum is committed to reducing hospitalizations, allowing patients to maintain a good quality of life.

Kidney Transplants
A strong focus has been placed on the management of kidney donation and transplantation. Diaverum is committed to optimizing time and processes to ensure that patients receive the treatment they need at the right time, thereby improving their ability to recover and well-being in the long term.

Ultrasound
Technology plays a key role in improving medical practices. Ultrasound of vascular accesses was one of the main topics discussed. An in-depth discussion of the importance of this technique in monitoring and managing vascular accesses led to a reflection on the need to integrate it more into daily routines.

Internal Audits
Another key aspect discussed was the use of internal audits. The implementation of regular audits allows Diaverum to continuously monitor and optimize its internal practices, promoting a culture of quality and safety at every stage of patient care. Each result is analyzed to improve processes and identify areas for development.

Incident Reports
Finally, the topic of Incident Reports was explored. The collection and analysis of incidents are essential to ensure continuous improvement and proactive risk management. Diaverum takes a transparent and learning-oriented approach so that every experience can help refine clinical and operational practices.

K-Camp Project Presentation
During the meeting, the new K-Camp project, an innovative initiative that aims to train and update healthcare professionals through interactive, hands-on programs, was also enthusiastically presented. K-Camp will focus on advanced dialysis techniques and the use of the latest technologies to improve the quality of patient treatment.
This international project, in collaboration with Bari Polyclinic and Prof. Loreto Gesualdo, Full Professor of Nephrology at the University of Bari and Director of the School of Specialization in Nephrology, is designed to engage physicians, nurses and all Diaverum healthcare professionals in a hands-on learning environment that includes simulations, workshops and practical discussions. K-Camp aims to create a network of experts who will share knowledge and best practices in an innovative and dynamic way.

A Journey in the City of Palermo:
Innovation and Tradition.
In addition to the professional aspects, the event was enriched by a unique experience: a tour of the city aboard typical Palermo bees. This leisure time allowed participants to explore Palermo, discovering its history, culture and traditions. It was a sharing opportunity that strengthened our team spirit, creating pleasant memories that will stay with us in future projects.
